Helping small businesses secure federal R&D funding
Skykark Science helps seed, early stage, emerging, or established businesses identify relevant federal funding opportunities (including SBIR/STTR), prepare proposals, and develop strategies for engaging federal research & development (R&D) program managers.
As a start-up or small business, you have a lot on your plate (product development, securing investment, the day to day of running your business, etc.). You know that federal R&D funding would help you reduce technical risk or start on the next generation of your product, but are not sure where to start. Or maybe you’ve identified an opportunity and want to increase the win likelihood of your proposal.
I bring extensive experience both from the small business and government side, and a deep network of contacts in the federal and government contractor R&D space. I can help you be more efficient with your limited time and resources. Contact me for a free consultation.

Services
Identifiying relevant opportunities
Parsing federal funding opportunities (BAAs, SBIR/STTRs, RFIs, oh my!) and searching through SAM.gov is probably not your cup of tea. I can help you make sense of the acronym soup and identify promising opportunities either once or on an on-going basis.
proposal preparation
I cannot write your proposal for you but I can help with other parts of the proposal process, including initial proposal strategizing and brainstorming, scoping the technical work, developing great figures, and improving your draft proposal.
R&D Strategy
Waiting for the government to release an opportunity relevant to you is not always a viable strategy. If you’re not seeing opportunities relevant to your business, I can help you determine which federal agencies might be good fits and how to seed your ideas with them.
